Lunch dating at home

Last Wednesday, hubby was working from home and while our helper picked our son from school, we had quiet and peaceful lunch time together. I cooked fishball noodle for him and grilled fish for myself. Simple happiness found at our home sweet home.

That's what friends are for

I and hubby had a best friend, he's the one who found the family builder community where we were the shepherd now. He's fighting with his life and racing against the time. Doctor had told him that his days were numbered. We still believe that there's always second chance in life if God's will. Thus we as friend want to motivate and encourage him to keep fighting till the end and not to give up. Not giving up on himself, not giving up on his faith and not giving up on hope. Thus, I created this short video clip to remember our moments together. Keep smiling, keep shining Know that you can always count on us for sure that's what friends are for In good times and bad times, we'll be on your side forever more

Sharing Vulnerability (Valentine's Reflection)

2 weeks ago, we had a cold fight. It's not because of big matter but it's all small things built up and exploded. Hubby had a tendency to keep quiet, as not to make any unnecessary conflict even though he's not happy with me. On the other hand, I didn't know if he's not happy with me. I kept going and just did a usual every day stuffs. Until one day, there's an incident which I thought was trivial but it hurt him. He didn't tell me, just gave me a cold shoulder. I waited for him to calm down however things never improved. I couldn't take it anymore and decided to ask him what's wrong then he started to talk his feeling. I just kept quiet listening to him and after he poured out all of his feelings, we argued because we had two different point of views on how to handle the problems. In the end, we patched up and decided to tell and share our feeling when we don't feel good about each other than waiting until it's built up and exploded. This Ko

Love is in the air (Valentine's Date 2021)

Instead of celebrating on the V-day itself, we celebrated 4 days earlier to avoid surcharge and over crowded place. This valentine, we chose to have a roof top dining at Level 33, MBFC. It's claimed to be the tallest urban micro-brewery. They had their own breweries and hubby loved the fresh brewed beer. It's the best valentine's date according to him, as he loved the beer, food and the view as well. We took 3 courses menu First course : Half dozen oyster to share Main course : Iberico pork jowl for me and Beef steak for him Dessert : Pitaschio ice cream with choco hazelnut and stout jelly After that, we enjoyed the sunset and Singapore landscapes before heading home. Happy Valentine's Day !

Happy Niu Year 2021

This year is our first Chinese New Year spent in Singapore due to Covid-19 travel restrictions. Thus, we as the eldest in the family hosted CNY reunion at our home sweet home. Our helper cooked the homecooked meals Indo-chinese cuisine. The menu : - Fried Noodle (symbol : longetivity) - Indonesian mixed meatball soup  - Sweet and sour chicken (symbol : life is full of sweet and sometimes sour events) - Capcay (symbol : health is our wealth) - Calamari rings (symbol : forever love) - Yusheng - Orange loukan (symbol : good health) My sister bought some cookies and we shared them among us as we didn't want to overeat. We started off with taking pictures, yusheng and prayer for Niu Year, fellowship over lunch and called our parents in Indonesia via WA chat. It's an intimate and warm celebration catching up with each other and glad that everyone's doing well.

Love in the Niu Year (February 2021)

As usual we took leave on Wednesday, 2 days before the year of Ox. We tried out a new cafe in Bt Timah neighbourhood, Prairie by Craftsmen. The ambience is good for family brunch, they have indoor and outdoor dining area. We chose outdoor area. The food was alright and quite filling eventhough we shared the breakfast platter. After that, we explored another cafe which is the Affogato bar which specialised in coffee, ice cream and of course affogato. Since we were still full, we ordered cafe mocca and tea. It's a beautiful day and feeling good to spend the quality time with each other.

Pizza Wisdom

I saw this quotes on facebook, it's pretty true as I reflected on it. People are like pizza. We have tendency to judge by the cover, but when we open it up, exploring further, it's pretty different from what we see in the beginning and the more we build relationship with them, the more we know their strengths and weaknesses. In the end, we have two choices, to embrace and enjoy the relationship by accepting their strengths and weaknesses or complain and reject them which is painful process in our side.

Fourth week of 2021 (Acknowledge the weaknesses)

There's a calm in life. Everything is good, the workload is okay, family is okay. I was reminded to be more mindful and live in the present especially at my work. My biggest weakness is carelessness because I do everything in the very fast pace and not pay attention to the details. It takes humility and conscious to pause for a moment, check and make sure everything is in order before moving forward. I guess we can close the first chapter of 2021 with gratitude as everything is still going well and smooth.
