The Leap of Faith ( 30th May 2021)

Sunday, 30th May 2021 is the feast of Holy Trinity.

Two days before, I had this prompting to venture to new adventure which is opening the homemade dessert which is healthier version of what the market offer.

I have been in dilemma as I am in the comfortable life right now. I have a great job with good salary, can spend time with my hubby and kids, enjoy my passion to coach and train other people, the least I ever thought is starting entrepreneur journey again.

Entrepreneur journey is not an easy path, very challenging and tiring sometimes but it's fulfilling mission as well.

On Sunday afternoon, I had a call from my trainee. Suddenly she told me "Indah, can you open PO for acai bowl?" I was shocked and didn't know what to say. In addition, she told me that to open the order on Tuesday as I met her and she was willingly to help distributing the food.

I tried to give her some excuses as I haven't bought the ingredients and even haven't counted the cost and price yet.

She persuaded and told me that we could open a small batch for 8 bowls only. I told her, alright, I will count the cost and price and let her know. After I hung up the phone, I was still stunt.

I need to make a quick decision to go ahead or to reject her request.

In the end, I decided to go ahead, it's a lap of faith. Quickly, I ordered ingredients online hoping that it will be delivered the next day as I only have 1 day to prepare everything. Counting the cost and deciding the selling price, finding the name, logo, packaging etc in a short notice.

Just before 6pm, I told her alright let's go ahead with 8 bowls as a start.

She quickly sent the broadcast message to the group and within 15 minutes, it's filled up so quickly and she paid me for 8 bowls first.

I was amazed.....

On Monday, thanks God the main ingredients arrived on time, I bought the rest of it including the packaging on Monday.

On Tuesday, I passed it to her and she helped to distribute it to her friends.

Everything happened so quickly and it really the lap of faith.

After receiving some good feedback, I decided to open batch 2 PO for other area which is Bishan. Again, I just opened for 10 bowls to test the market. Within a day, I could close the PO for 12 bowls which will be delivered on Sunday, 6 June 2021.

So this is a week of my entrepreneur revival spirit. I have mix feeling, fear, anxiety, hope, pride, joy. One word that summarises it is I feel so alive. It's like me that comes back again from the hybernation period.

Birthday Trip to Vietnam - Hanoi (Cafe hopping)

We spent our  last day in Hanoi  doing what we love most— café hopping ! The day started with a local breakfast of  Banh Cuon , a soft steamed rice roll filled with minced pork and mushrooms, quite similar to  chee cheong fun  but with its own Vietnamese twist. Light yet flavorful—perfect to kick off the morning. Next, we visited  Café Giang , the birthplace of the famous  egg coffee . Rich, creamy, and unlike any coffee we've had before—it’s a must-try when in Hanoi. Our last café stop was  The Note Coffee , a cozy and cheerful little spot decorated from floor to ceiling with colorful  sticky notes  left by visitors from all over the world. Their  iced coconut coffee  was refreshing and delicious—definitely a highlight. Since our hotel was located near  Train Street , we couldn’t resist visiting it multiple times— three to be exact!  We even had dinner there one evening, enjoying the thrill of the train zooming by ju...

As for me and my house will serve you Lord

Finally, I’ve joined the boys in serving at the Eucharist. It’s not my time, but His time. Two of the communion ministers were unable to serve on Sunday morning and requested to move to the Saturday sunset Mass. This left the group leader looking for replacements — and he thought of me, knowing that my hubby has been serving at Mass for 10 years. I said “yes” to the invitation, and so began my journey: the commissioning Mass on 3rd August, a Day of Recollection on 9th August, and my very first duty on 10th August. It is such a privilege to offer Jesus, in the Body of Christ, to His sheep. As I looked into the eyes of each parishioner receiving the Body of Christ, I saw so many different expressions. My prayer is that this gift of the Body of Christ will strengthen them in their journey, whatever season of life they are in.
