The Way of Eagle

Yesterday we had a spiritual enrichment with ci Pat and the topic about prophetic intercessory prayer.

One take away from this session is we need to know God's heart and desire so we can pray over according to God's will instead of asking God to do our will.

And during praise and worship, I had a vision about Eagle.

The eagle is roaring from the deep forest to the blue sky and God said that I will be saved under His eagle's wings. He will protect me against all undesirable things.

It really intrigues me thus I searched about this special bird - eagle.

Born to soar

God created the eagle to soar ! He is born to soar ! As such, he is a picture of the believer who is born again to live a victorious life.

The eaglet is born in the nest. Its needs are met by his parents. The eaglet has no desire to leave the nest as it's quite comfortable right where it is ! But an eaglet is born to fly and soar. So the mother spends a great deal of time preparing it for that glorious moment when it takes its flight.

God creates eagle not to sit in the comfort of its nest nor to walk on the ground nor to flutter or flipping and flapping. He creates eagle to soar.

Equipped to soar

1. Eagle has good vantage point

Eagle build its nest, huge and high above, our of reach of the enemy.

They build it in the solid branches of a huge tree or rocky crag on a cliff and it gives eagle a great vantage point. We must also learn how to live above the world. To live like an eagle ! and have been given a great vantage point from which we can see.

2. Eagle has good eyesight

Eagle sits high upon the rock and scan an area of 1.5 km2 from its fixed position. It can spot animal as small as rat and once it spots its prey, its eyes lock onto it and launch out to capture it.

No matter what obstacle comes into the way, it will navigate the obstacles and never losing its focus until it has seized its prey.

The reason why we never each a satisfactory level of spiritual growth is because we allow things to distract us. We need to learn to stay focus, navigate the obstacles until we reach our goals.

3. Eagle doesn't fly

An eagle spends very little time flipping its wings, usually only on take off, landings or course corrections. Most of the time, it glides on the wind, soaring on the power of the wind. This is the secret to his speed and strength.

By the power of the spirit of God, this is our strength too.

The eagle's mistakes

40% of all eagles will die before reaching maturity. The common reasons are

1. They leave the nest without parental protection.

If we get ahead of God and seek to do things before it is time !

2. Trying to fly like other birds, flapping their wings, getting tired and not properly using the wind.

Eagles do not fly like other birds, flapping their wings profusely and using their own strength.

If the age encounters a storm, they set their wings and soar directly into the storm. The velocity of the wind lifts them safely above the storm. Eagle loves the storm and he can sense a storm. When clouds gather, eagle use the winds from the storms to reach higher places.

We must learn to rest in the storm and not fight the storm as through the storm, we know that God wants to lift us to higher places.

Learning to soar

One of the ways mother eagle trains the eaglet is to stop bringing the food. She is building a desire for eaglet to go out. Eaglet stretches its wings and a strong wind may lift him up but it will not try to leave the nest yet. It's actually afraid to leave its comfort zone.

Soon, the mother eagle stirs up the nest and begins to tear the nest and let the eaglet out from comfort nest.

God also does similar things when He thinks that we are ready to soar, He will send us adversity, shaking our comfort zone. However, God will catch us up when we fail to fly.

In its youth, eaglet has instinct but no skill. He has desire but not ready to go it totally alone.

If it thinks that it's ready and leave the care of its parents, it most likely will not survive.

So just as an eaglet must wait on its parents, we must learn to wait patiently upon the Lord !

Dreams come true - Cappadocia (day 7)

This is the highlight of Cappadocia which is hot air balloon ride. As it depends a lot on the weather, we were lucky that we could fly to watch sunrise. We were picked up around 5.30am in the morning to Urgup area and arrived 20 mins later. They provided us with light breakfast while they lit up the balloon.  We started riding it around 6.20am and it's so breathtaking to see the Goreme area and hundreds of balloon joining us. The sunrise is around 7am and by 7.30am we already landed safely.  We had champagne celebration and received certificate too and returned back to our hotel for breakfast. Around 10am, we were picked up for Green Valley tour. Stopped by at Goreme Panorama and Pigeon valley for photo spots. After that, we went to Underground city where Anatolian people lived underground to survive from natural disaster and dangers. It's amazing how they build the houses and lived there for a long period of time. Then, we continued our tour to Selime Monastery and Cathedral ...

Reflection

It's been such a long time that I sit down, press a pause button and reflect back what has happened in my life, what things I should be grateful, what are the lesson learnt and what I should improve Things have gone so fast in my life and it's like unending cycle. It's been almost 2 months since I helmed the new project in the company I am working and it took half of my life. I felt like I had a new baby but not "literally baby", it's more responsibility as many lives are on stakes. I had no experience, no mentor and coach, no team per say, only one person who's not hundred percent fully committed in this project and on top of that, the company threw me in the deep sea that  I need to swim and survive. It reminded me back when I started my motherhood journey. With no knowledge, no experience, no mentor, no helpers and little money, we need to nurture the living baby and finally we survived. The first one was always the harder, but after the second and thir...

Dreams come true - Cappadocia (day 6)

It's time for another dream destination - Cappadocia. After arriving at Athens International Airport, we miscalculated the transit time. We only gave 1.5 hours in between without realising that we needed to change the airline and domestic route so we rushed out and checked in 25 minutes before the flight departed. Thanks God, we were still allowed for checking in. After settling in Turkish airlines, we were provided with warm baguette and drinks which could calm ourselves and our seat was next to emergency door so we got leg room. We arrived at Cappadocia airport which was very small and reminded me on my hometown's airport in the old days. Then we were picked up by airport transfer to our cave hotel - Panoramic cave hotel. The journey to the hotel was amazing, we saw many natural chimneys that we never saw before. Arriving in the hotel, we checked in to our pigeon nest room which was chimney suite and never stop took pictures of the room and the scenery surrounding. In the lat...
