On day 5, we explored Fushimi Inari, Fushimi Sake Village and Kiyomizu-dera.
We started with Fushimi Inari, climbing up to the top of Mount Inari. Inari means God of rice and there are many shrines along the way and there are 1000 torii gates donated as offering by companies and individuals. Fox is the symbol of God's messenger therefore there are many foxes statues in the shrines.
After that we refuel ourselves with Inari sushi.
Continuing our journey to Fushimi Sake Village where we could see how sake was made and had free tasting of different sake.
We passed by Jikkokubune Canal with full bloom of sakura, too bad the boat ride is fully booked thus we only can take some nice pictures in the canal.
In the late afternoon, we went to Kiyomizu-dera temple catch them up during golden hour - sunset.
It's very beautiful view. Kiyomizu-dera temple is famous for the wooden staged hall.
We returned back to hotel and had McDonald for dinner. The chicken teriyaki was very good.
