It was our last day in Bangkok before flying back to Singapore, and it also happened to be our 18th Wedding Anniversary. We wanted to celebrate it somewhere memorable, so we decided to visit one of Bangkok's most unique restaurants—Cabbages & Condoms, located in Sukhumvit.
Despite its quirky concept, the restaurant serves authentic and delicious Thai cuisine. We ordered Chor Muang, beautiful purple flower-shaped dumplings filled with savoury chicken, the famous Condom Salad (which is actually a refreshing Thai rice noodle salad), and, of course, a plate of Pad Thai.
The food was surprisingly good, and the fun didn't stop there. At the end of our meal, instead of the usual complimentary mints, each guest received a free condom as a souvenir—a humorous touch that perfectly matched the restaurant's theme.
It was certainly a unique and memorable way to celebrate our 18th anniversary, and one we'll be talking about for years to come.
After lunch, we headed to the famous Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the largest markets in the world and an absolute must-visit whenever you're in Bangkok. Whether you're looking for fashion, handmade crafts, souvenirs, home décor, or street food, you'll find it all here. We also met up with a few friends before making our way back to the hotel.
The afternoon heat was quite intense, so we made one last café stop at Mother Cow, located just beside our hotel. We treated ourselves to one of their signature fresh milk fusion drinks and a serving of grilled toast—the perfect combination to cool down and recharge before heading to the airport.
Just like that, our Bangkok getaway had come to an end. Before boarding our flight home, we kept things simple with a cup of instant noodles at the airport. It wasn't a fancy farewell meal, but somehow it felt comforting and fitting after several wonderful days filled with amazing food, meaningful experiences, and countless memories.
As we flew back to Singapore, we couldn't help but feel grateful—not only for another beautiful trip together, but also for 18 wonderful years of marriage. Here's to many more adventures, new memories, and anniversaries to celebrate together.
