Eighteen years of marriage is neither a short nor a long journey, but it has been filled with countless memories, challenges, laughter, and blessings. We have walked through life's highs and lows together, and every season has shaped us into who we are today.
We are incredibly grateful that after 18 years, we still love each other just as deeply as when we first met. Our love has changed over the years—not because it has grown weaker, but because it has grown deeper, stronger, and more mature.
As we grow older, we also become wiser. There are moments when we annoy each other, disagree, or face difficult seasons. Yet, looking back, those moments were not meant to break us—they were meant to refine us. They taught us patience, forgiveness, humility, and unconditional love.
Above all, we are constantly reminded that our first and foremost vocation is to be a godly husband and wife, helping each other grow closer to Christ. Our second calling is to be godly parents, guiding our children to know, love, and put God first in every decision they make throughout their lives.
We may not be rich in worldly possessions, but God has always provided enough for us. We have a loving family, a harmonious home, and the blessing of good health. Those are treasures that money can never buy, and they are what truly matter most.
There are still many dreams in our hearts. We hope to explore Georgia and Antarctica together as a couple, and one day travel with our children to New Zealand, Mongolia, and even walk the Camino together as a family. These dreams require resources that we may not have today, but we place them entirely into God's hands, trusting that He will provide in His perfect timing.
We also dream of having a retirement home somewhere outside Singapore. We don't know where God will lead us, but we know that wherever He calls us to be, His plans will always be better than our own.
So today, as we celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary, my heart is simply filled with gratitude.
