Lourdes - Day 10

We arrived in Lourdes around 9:30 a.m. and walked for about half an hour to our hotel.

As it was winter, Lourdes was in its off-peak season. Many shops, restaurants, and hotels were closed, with only a handful still operating. The town felt quieter and more contemplative.

We stayed at Hotel Alliance, located just a 10-minute walk from the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes. After checking in and settling down, we went out for lunch and discovered a hidden gem of a family-run restaurant. The owner was also the chef and waiter, serving hearty grilled meats—perfect comfort food for winter.

With full and happy hearts (and stomachs), we made our way to the Sanctuary. The afternoon was peaceful, with fewer tourists and crowds. We first visited the water gesture area, where we followed what St. Bernadette did so many years ago—washing and drinking from the spring water while offering our prayers.

After that, we went to the Grotto, where we were unexpectedly invited to help lead the Rosary prayer. Of course, we said yes—it felt like a true privilege to be able to serve in such a sacred place.

We then spent some quiet time praying at the Basilica of the Rosary before returning to our hotel.

In the evening, we headed to Lourdes city centre for dinner and enjoyed a simple Western meal, ending the day in peace and gratitude.

Maintaining Marriage Fidelity

This article is from Focus Family and I thought it's good as self reminder for both of us so we don't take for granted of each other and commit to maintain marriage fidelity for the rest of our lives. Nobody wakes up one day and suddenly decides to begin an extramarital affair. Infidelity begins in the heart and mind. By the time a person physically commits adultery, he or she has been indulging for quite some time in progressively more intense mental and   emotional affairs . Likewise, marital fidelity begins long before marriage. It begins as a promise we make to ourselves to be a person of faithful character before marriage ever enters the picture. It is a promise we make to our future spouse when we get engaged, and it is a vow we make to our spouse when we get married. Marital fidelity is a daily commitment to seek the best for your spouse and family. Strengthening Marital Fidelity Marital fidelity is strengthened when you affirm your spouse, listen to your spouse, and se...
