After feeling fully recharged, we explored the Sanctuary of Padre Pio in the morning. We visited his tomb, the church, and the cell where he once stayed. The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful, inviting us to pause and reflect on his journey of faith.
Ted experienced a miracle after visiting the Sanctuary of Padre Pio. He had been complaining about a loose tooth and was unable to eat the night before. He prayed to Padre Pio, asking for healing. After we returned to our car, his tooth fell out—and a new root began to emerge, even though a dentist in Indonesia had previously told us that a new root might not grow.
After that, we drove about two hours to Lanciano, where the oldest Eucharistic Miracle took place. We arrived around noon, but the church was closed for lunch. We decided to have lunch at a local restaurant and stroll around the city while waiting for the church to reopen at around 3 p.m. When we finally visited, the church was quiet and serene, with only us inside—a truly intimate moment of prayer.
We then continued our journey to Loreto, home to the original House of Nazareth, where the Virgin Mary received the Annunciation. It is believed that the house was transported either by angels or by a noble family named Angelo. We attended a weekday Mass there and had dinner on the go, as we needed to reach Assisi for our night stay.
We arrived in Assisi around 10 p.m., and finding our Airbnb was quite challenging. It was located in the Old Town of Assisi, just a five-minute walk from the Basilica of San Francesco. At that hour, the streets were very quiet and almost empty. We finally found our apartment after 11 p.m., and the kids were completely exhausted.
Despite the long day, our hearts felt full. We felt truly blessed and spiritually renewed.
