Paris - Singapore - Day 18 (Testimony)

This marks the end of our 18-day pilgrimage across Italy and France. It was truly a fruitful and blessed journey. Each of us experienced healing and miracles in our own way, both seen and unseen. For myself, I feel deeply enlightened and renewed. Reflecting on the life of St. Thérèse of Lisieux reminded me that extraordinary holiness can grow from ordinary, simple acts done with great love. During the Sacrament of Reconciliation, a priest encouraged me to live more acts of charity and mercy. These words stayed with me and have now become the guiding theme of my life in 2026. Another beautiful piece of advice I received was this: the closer we grow to God, the simpler our lives become. We begin to focus on what truly matters, instead of chasing after things that fade so quickly. Our youngest son experienced his own miracle at San Giovanni Rotondo. We entrust him to the care of Padre Pio, praying that he will always guide and protect him along his path. Our second son also experienced a ...

2nd Pilgrimage to Italy and France (12 - 31 December 2025)

This was our second pilgrimage as a family, with Italy and France as our chosen destinations. It was especially meaningful as it coincided with the Holy Door and the Jubilee Year. The trip was also a thanksgiving journey for our sons, who had just completed their Primary 6 and O-Level milestones. We felt called to give thanks together as a family, marking this season with prayer, reflection, and gratitude. Our pilgrimage began in Italy, where we visited Rome, San Giovanni Rotondo, Lanciano, Loreto, Assisi, Siena, Bolsena, and Orvieto. We then continued on to France, exploring Paris, Lourdes, Nevers, and Lisieux. We chose to rent a car and self-drive through both Italy and France—and we never regretted that decision. Along the way, we experienced many unexpected moments, meaningful encounters, and new adventures. These are stories I look forward to sharing in more detail in our upcoming blog posts. We are deeply grateful and humbled to have been able to go on this pilgrimage as a family...

As for me and my house will serve you Lord

Finally, I’ve joined the boys in serving at the Eucharist. It’s not my time, but His time. Two of the communion ministers were unable to serve on Sunday morning and requested to move to the Saturday sunset Mass. This left the group leader looking for replacements — and he thought of me, knowing that my hubby has been serving at Mass for 10 years. I said “yes” to the invitation, and so began my journey: the commissioning Mass on 3rd August, a Day of Recollection on 9th August, and my very first duty on 10th August. It is such a privilege to offer Jesus, in the Body of Christ, to His sheep. As I looked into the eyes of each parishioner receiving the Body of Christ, I saw so many different expressions. My prayer is that this gift of the Body of Christ will strengthen them in their journey, whatever season of life they are in.

Happy Blessed Easter 2025 !

This year’s Easter feels extra special, as all the boys at home—including the kids and my husband—were actively serving in church from Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, all the way through to Easter Sunday. They poured their hearts into every preparation, making countless trips to and from the church—especially our firstborn, who showed remarkable dedication. Witnessing this has filled our hearts with overwhelming gratitude. We’re reminded that the greatest gift we can pass on to our children isn’t material wealth, but a legacy of faith. Material things come and go, but faith endures. It provides a strong foundation, especially when life doesn’t go as planned. It’s not about what we’ve done right as parents—it’s purely by God’s grace that their hearts have been touched to love their Creator above all else. We may not know what the future holds for our boys, but one thing is certain: as long as they walk in the right path, they will find true fulfillment in life. While I’m stil...

Novena St Joseph

In my desperation and anxiety over our financial situation, I turned to St. Joseph’s intercession through the Novena to St. Joseph. Throughout the nine days of prayer, I reflected deeply on St. Joseph’s life, especially during his feast day. He was a simple, humble, and introverted man, living in the shadow of Mary, yet entrusted with the immense responsibility of protecting and providing for the Son of God and His mother. It’s incredible how St. Joseph lived his life. He had no clear knowledge of God’s plan—only dreams as guidance—yet he obeyed without hesitation, following God’s instructions with unwavering faith. When Mary told him she was with child by the Holy Spirit, he must have struggled to comprehend it. As a man of logic, he might have thought she was imagining things or even delusional. Yet, after receiving a message in a dream, he chose to believe her, take her under his care, and embrace his role in God’s plan. As a human, he might have assumed that the Son of God would be...

Surrendering to God's wills : A Journey through Faith and Uncertainty

During this uncertain period, I’ve found strength in reflecting on special moments tied to significant dates. I wanted to write them down as a testament of faith, so I’ll remember them when the answers to my prayers unfold. 15 August :  The Feast of the Assumption of Mary This was the day I officially tendered my resignation, stepping into the unknown without any idea of where I would work next. 15 October :  The Feast of St. Teresa of Ávila – A teacher of prayer and the spiritual journey This marked my last day as a working mom, transitioning back to being a stay-at-home mom. 1 December :  First Sunday of Advent – Hope I began the Novena to Our Lady, seeking guidance and praying for my next work assignment, though still uncertain about what lay ahead. 9 December :  The Feast of the Immaculate Conception and Second Sunday of Advent – Peace On the final day of my novena, I messaged the CEO of a company that had promised to hire me. He replied, saying the strategic pla...

Lourdes Experience - 7 Dec 2024

"I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done unto me." This was the central message of the Lourdes Experience, the fifth event hosted in Singapore. I felt prompted by the Holy Spirit to attend after one of the PD KKIHS team members informed us she had extra tickets. I volunteered to take a ticket, planning to go with my husband. Unfortunately, he had to serve at Saturday Mass, so I went alone. I wasn’t sure why I felt such a strong pull to attend, but during the Eucharist celebration, I was deeply moved and found myself in tears. I cried again during Holy Communion and adoration, overwhelmed by the experience. At the time, my life felt like it was in the midst of storms and trials, particularly with my desire to return to work. Despite my prayers and efforts to search for opportunities, every door seemed to remain closed. I felt stuck and unsure of what to do next. During the Lourdes Experience, all I could do was cry out to God, feeling helpless yet fully reliant on His me...

Marriage Renewal

The Church of the Holy Cross recently celebrated its 45th anniversary with an exciting program, including a Marriage Renewal Vow ceremony for couples. We attended the mass, where we renewed our vows in the presence of our children and my mom, followed by a delightful lunch provided by the church. During the ceremony, we were inspired by a couple celebrating an incredible 69 years of marriage. Both looked great and clearly still in love. We also saw couples who had been together for 64 and 58 years. They serve as our marriage goals: to remain in love and faithful to each other throughout our lives. It’s a testament to how a strong, happy relationship can be a true anti-aging secret, even amidst modern technology. The greatest gift we can give our children is a solid example of a loving marriage.

First and One Life Experience with Papal Mass

Last Thursday, September 12, 2024, was a truly memorable day for our family. By God's grace, we had the incredible privilege of attending the Papal Mass. My husband and our eldest son even had the honor of serving during the Mass—my husband as a Communion Minister and our son as an Altar Server. Being just a few meters away from the Pope, especially witnessing him bless the little children and people with disabilities, was an emotional experience for me. I couldn't hold back my tears. I felt the profound, unconditional love of God and witnessed the essence of what humanity truly needs. Attending the Papal Mass felt like a glimpse of Heaven, with God on His throne, surrounded by Angels and Saints, while the rest of us worshipped Him. In that moment, there was no judgment based on race or worldly success; we were all equal in God's eyes. Though we couldn't choose our seats, we embraced our place with deep gratitude. Much like in Jesus' time, people came for various re...

God is Slow

Sometimes, it feels like God is slower than we expect. But God’s seeming slowness doesn’t mean He’s inactive or incapable. Instead, it may be that we are the ones moving too quickly. As a great teacher, God sometimes needs to slow down to teach us valuable lessons, preparing us to receive His gifts and fulfill our missions. Consider the analogy of a dance or music teacher. Even though they are experts, they often need to slow down their instruction to effectively impart their skills and knowledge to their students. This process can seem slow and tedious, but it’s essential for growth. Similarly, in the story of Jesus’s first miracle at Cana, He chose to turn water into wine not instantly, but through a process. Instead of transforming the water in the wells, He asked the servants to fill jars with water from the wells, one bucket at a time. This laborious task took time, but it was part of the process leading to the miracle. In our fast-paced world, we often seek instant success and qu...

In the Desert

Over the past few weeks, I have been feeling down, frustrated, and confused. After resigning from my previous job, I was hopeful about finding a new position that would allow me to continue being a working mom while pursuing self-fulfillment. Despite submitting numerous job applications, I’ve faced continuous setbacks, which led me to question my worth and wonder if something is wrong with me. I found myself questioning what God wants me to do, as it seemed that every door was closing, leaving me with the option of becoming a stay-at-home mom. I feel that I have more to offer than just staying at home, and this has been a source of frustration for me. During a recent cardio session, I came across a video from Life Church on YouTube. The message was about calming a restless mind, and one particular verse struck me deeply. The speaker shared that when Jesus was baptized, He had not yet performed any ministry work or miracles. He was simply an ordinary carpenter who was baptized, and yet ...

Anxiety Vs Trust in the Lord

The past few weeks have been filled with anxiety for me, largely due to the transition to our new house and changes in my career. I officially tendered my resignation on August 15, the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. On one hand, I feel relieved; on the other, I’m grappling with a sense of loss. As I move from being a working mother to a stay-at-home mom, I’m letting go of aspects of my identity, including travel perks, personal time, my social circle, and professional recognition. While I’m gaining more time for myself and my family, and a chance to return to a healthier lifestyle, I’m struggling to let go of my previous roles and privileges. I’ve been praying earnestly to find a new job soon, but it feels like doors remain closed no matter how hard I try. Recently, as I was using the treadmill at the gym, I watched a sermon on YouTube about anxiety and trusting in the Lord. It spoke to how anxiety isn’t a sin but a signal that we might not be fully trusting God. I...
