Awesome October - God sent a helper

I gave up trying to take control of everything, it really exhausted me therefore we decided to hire a new helper. It's not an easy journey, we took for granted when we got the first one quite easily but for this second one, we have interviewed 4 helpers and almost gave up. However, prayer changes everything and it's answered in God's time. Long short story, we were able to get a new helper and she joined our family in 1st October. She has 17 years experience in Singapore and Hongkong and 1 year older than me. I didn't doubt about her maturity as she has one adult daughter in University. We picked her up in the airport yesterday and we talked about her family background etc and we felt safe because all her family are working in the proper office job. It will be very unlikely they ask for money or depend financially from her. So far she's been diligent and hard working and problem solver. We love her including the kids, the kids feel so comfortable and respect her. Af...

Parents as a source of strengths and comfort

After staying with us for 2 months plus, we bid farewell to my parents yesterday. They went back home to carry on with their own life.  At first, I was so nervous when they decided to come to Singapore and stayed for 1 month, because we will be very busy with works and school and nobody can entertain them, thus I am afraid they will get bored. However, things turned out better, they were willing to help out with simple household chores, cooking for our kids and taking care of the kids' wellness. My dad loved to go to wet market to buy his grandchildren's favourite fruit - mango and hubby's favourite fruit - pomelo. He can go there 2 - 3x a day and even able to see the price movement of fruits hahaha and knew which stall sells the good bargain. While my mom, enjoying chatting with her friends through phone when she's rest. She enjoyed cooking and thanks God they are healthy and joyful. I thank God for the time spent together and treasured every moment we had from eating ...

A dad and protector

I always believe that whatever happen in our life as long as we are faithful to God is under His plan for our greater good even though we may not understand yet. When I and hubby had a fight on Saturday night, I couldn't sleep thus I woke up early, showered and put my make up to cover my swollen eyes after crying the whole night. I decided to clean and tidy up the kitchen. When I tidied up, suddenly my dad came and accompanied me. Basically he didn't do much, just being there with me and helped a bit here and there.  I felt so loved and protected when I was in the heart turmoil. He didn't know that I just had fight the night before but his presence consoled and comforted me. I guess that's the best feeling I ever had with my dad. When I reflect back, I guess that's what our Father in heaven do also to us. We may not feel the supernatural presence but He's with us through people surrounding. I thank God for this beautiful moment and I will treasure it in my heart...

Celebratory Dinner and lunch !

What an awesome event to start a year, last Saturday we attended our eldest' son award ceremony. He received a GPA from his primary school and it's a sweet moment for us and especially for him and hubby. It's really a reward for his and hubby's hard works together hand in hand. We really proud of them. We celebrated it just the two of us in the evening after hubby finished badminton at Harry's Esplanade and ordered steak after that we strolled around Marina promenade talking about past and future. And on Sunday, we celebrate it with our kids at Brotzeit and McDonald's ice cream for a dessert.

A year of Gratitude 2021 - Faith hope and love

This year is a special year for us as husband and wife and family. It's been a roller coaster year but we are grateful because by God's grace, love and providence we managed to pull through and ended the year with victory. Our marriage relationship was tested and purified in the deeper level that we can't imagine and we grow deeper in love and trust to each other. Our family faith was also tested and challenged when our oldest son having PSLE and our youngest son had covid at the same time. We were grateful for our friends who are with us, doing crazy things together, laughter and joy, and even when we were in the darkest moments. It's a home far from home but we still feel that many people care for us. It's been a fruitful journey and we are truly grateful for that. Here's some preview of this year that we always remember in our heart.

Christmas preparation

This is our last minute preparation for Xmas. At first, I don't want to put up Xmas tree or prepare gifts for friends, however after listening to the Formed session about The meaning of True Christmas and every element has biblical meaning then I decide to put up xmas tree and prepare simple goodie bags for friends.

The Conversion of The Soul

I always believe that in every situation of our life, God always takes control eventhough it may not seem right according to human's perceptions. However, through painful experience and suffering, God shows His mercy and love even more. This is the story of my dad's conversion which is still on-going. One of my greatest wishes is to see my dad believe in Jesus Christ and being babtised before his earthly time is up. With this current situation which I or my siblings can't travel to my hometown, it seems impossible for my dad to know Jesus if none told him so. I encouraged my mom to tell about Jesus, but my mom is a bit hesitant and always says that's it's hard. I keep praying and fasting for the conversion of his soul and offer the prayer through rosary intercessory and ask all angels and saints to help. One day, when my sister faced the storm of life, five of us had video call. This was the first time that we gathered as a family and communicated what we felt and...

Passing On The Faith

There's an incident one month ago that our eldest son did something shameful. He suddenly sent a vulgarity message to his friend and his friend forwarded it to the other groups. Thanks God, my hubby saw the msg and did damage control. He's very disappointed to him because we never taught anything like that and he's been accompanying him to study and almost every day spending quality time with him.  As for me, this is like a sign for God that we can't control our children 100%. As parents, we only able to do what we know best for them but it's only 1%.  We don't know their heart and they may change every day. Thus Faith become the most ultimate weapon. It's prompted me to pass the faith on the children not just the praying habit but reading the bible. They may not understand yet now, but when times come, I believe that Holy Spirit will guide their heart and mind especially when they need to make important decision in their life. So every night, we read daily ...

Celebrating Our Housekeeper's Birthday (21 April 2020)

Our housekeeper, mbak Sugi has been 2 months with us. So far, we were satisfied with her performance. She's fast learner, humble and pure. She never talked back to us. We gave her a surprise birthday celebration to make her feel like home. She's cry of joy when we gave her surprise. Hopefully, she could work with us for at least 2 years and make us as her family too.

Self Doubt - Peace

Self doubt is the most undesirable circumstances that I feel it's not easy to grasp. Drifting here and there without any certainty and clarity. Confused between the truth and manipulation. Doubting who I am and what I am doing. Feeling like I'm not who I am. It's all started few months back when I didn't feel comfortable during our regular business meeting about goal and target. There's nothing wrong with having goal and target, but I just feel unnecessary pressure upon me. When I joined this networking business, my goal is actually purely sharing what I use, the benefits I use and not exactly for money. However when our leader starts to set the goal as well as individual goal, I feel like sales people in the company with monthly target. I rarely have a joy in doing it other than pressure. I started doubting myself, questioning what I am doing and who I really am. Then it's flashed back last year when I was contemplating three op...

Cooking With Kids - pizza and martabak (April 2020)

As we were entering lockdown and most of us were advised to stay at home. We did something we never do before which is cooking together. I bought ready made pizza base, tomato paste, shredded cheese and sausages for pizza. We had extra tofu, so I asked our housekeeper to mash it and I put some seasoning and egg as filling for our martabak. I made it simple for the kids and for our housekeeper so the table won't so messy. Turn out, the kids enjoyed so much and looking forward next cooking season.

New cook emerged

Hubby is carnivore one and he loves meat so much so we have weekend brunch at huber Butchery for two weeks consecutively. On Sunday, he still wanted to eat steak so we went to Huber shop to buy some meat and other stuffs. He cooked for dinner and I just helped out for side dishes and it turned out well. This is will be our backup plan just in case my birthday fell into lockdown period.
