Put God First and Spouse Second

Last Saturday, after our prayer meeting, we took a quick trip to JB for dinner and to pump petrol. On the way, my husband suddenly turned to me and said something that truly touched my heart — he felt supported, lighter, and that I had changed for the better as a wife and mother. Even though I haven’t contributed much materially to the household, he said he feels  at home  whenever he’s home — and for that, he’s deeply grateful. I believe this is the power of prayer and perseverance. Over the past 10 months, God has been molding and shaping me. I’m a tough piece of clay — strong-willed, rebellious — and it hasn’t been an easy process. It’s been painful as God stripped away my ego and pride, leaving me with nothing of my own. But through that brokenness, I’ve learned to be humble, to expect less, and to trust more — knowing that God is always present, always providing, even when we can’t see it yet. The business hasn’t picked up yet — but I’ve already surrendered it fully to Go...

Short Gateway, Unexpected Storms

So here we go—another unexpected drama during our short getaway at Telunas. It started out well. Since this was our only holiday in a while, we wanted to make the most of it—reconnect with nature, with each other, and with ourselves. My husband mentioned beforehand that there would be no internet in the rooms, with only limited WiFi access at the reception lobby. I thought,  Perfect.  A break from routines, screens, and distractions. A real chance to unplug—and great for the kids, too. I even packed a few nice, sexy outfits. I wanted to be intentional about making memories and rekindling intimacy. Day One  went smoothly. Then came  Day Two —and with it, an unexpected shift. That afternoon, while the kids were at their 2-hour pottery session, I was looking forward to some uninterrupted couple time. Just the two of us. The plan was simple: relax, talk, enjoy the sea breeze from our room—and yes, maybe some intimacy by the sea. It sounded beautiful in my head. But reali...

Faith, Gratitude and Perspective

Last Thursday, my husband and I had an argument over something trivial. The kids were running late, but I insisted they brush their teeth, even if it meant being three minutes late. I wanted them to learn the lesson that responsibilities shouldn’t be skipped, no matter the circumstances. My husband was upset with how I handled the situation. He expressed that he felt angry and disrespected. In response, I raised my voice too, overwhelmed by the pressures of managing the kids and navigating my new business venture. Although we agreed to talk it out that day, our conversation didn’t resolve much. We withdrew into our own emotional spaces, becoming distant while still fulfilling our roles as parents. By Saturday, we decided to have a deeper conversation. I shared the darker side of my feelings—how my faith felt like it was hanging by a thread after what happened at my workplace last year. I felt cornered, as if every door had closed on me. Even with this new business opportunity, I often ...

Annual Gala Dinner 45th Anniversary ME (24 Nov 2024)

This was our first time attending the Annual Gala Dinner with the ME community, and we’re so glad we came. We reconnected with familiar faces from our LC 471 (Love Circle), our mentors, the outreach service team, the Indonesian ME community, and parish priests. Seeing these couples, who have faithfully held hands through life’s ups and downs, inspired us to keep persevering and cherishing one another, no matter the challenges. We thank God for leading us to ME. By His grace, He has healed our wounds and restored our hearts.

POV - 5 love languages

A short video of POV having a spouse with 5 love languages. Something that we put an effort to keep our flame despite all the storms and thunders around us.

Reconnect heart to heart

Last Saturday we had intense talk, reconnecting heart to heart again at our favourite place in happy and sad days, Marina Bay Promenade. In the past few weeks, I feel no connection with him. He's been very nice and I am grateful for that however there's something blocking me thus after my serving to EGCC recollection and attending fellowship at PD KKIHS, I asked him out to have a good talk. We strolled at night and I started first telling him about my feeling and what's happening with me. It started with the gift exchange between him and his fling. It's kinda annoyed me but I tried to brush it off and keep it under the blanket. However, it's getting worse. Slowly but sure, I built up the wall in my heart. Thus I told him what I felt and it's not right for me. He listened and explained his point of view. At first. he tried to defence but after I told him how hurt I am when he was not able to give himself 100% totally to me and how long I should wait, it's bee...

Walking in the Desert

This is what I feel right now, walking in the desert alone. These past few days I felt in low spirit, felt like loser and idiot. All negative thoughts and self doubt attacking me. I questioned myself, am I a capable sales person ? do I value add the company where I am working ? am I worth the salary I receive ? do I spend more than getting the results ? I tell myself that I am worthy, I am good and try to learn from free LinkedIn courses how to be a better sales person. I know that God is there and watching over me, but I just can't see it yet. I want to escape and running from the current situation but I know that's not the answer. I need to embrace and trust God's plan. In addition to that, I felt more down this morning when I saw hubby's chat with her. In my head level, I try to tell myself that it's merely just a chat, friendship's chat, nothing more than that. But I can't lie that I felt uneasy in my heart. I just felt unfair that he cares so much, go...

Fruitful labour date

We spent Labour Day fruitfully, starting my day with half an hour jogging around the complex after that teaching our kids for around 2 hours. In late morning, we attended ME (Marriage Encounter) anniversary mass and received blessing for achieving 15 year milestone then we had lunch at don don ki with our kids. In the evening, we had seanema date at Sentosa. It's a fruitful and lovely Labour Day !

Happy Valentine's Day 2023

This year's valentine is special. It's not just any celebration but it's a celebration of victory and marks the beginning of "new adventure". By God's grace and mercy, we reconciled during ME retreat last weekend. We were able to go back to where we were before the incident. I am full of love and able to share everything to hubby again. He becomes my best friend again, and it seems that love conquers all. And another challenge is now about "time". This first quarter is very busy period for me, traveling back and forth to Jakarta for business. Leaving my hubby and the kids behind is not a nice feeling eventhough there's a good thing on the other side of the coin as we are not taking each other for granted. As my gift of love, I want to give my precious time whenever I am available in Singapore to my hubby and the kids, thus in this valentine's day, I curated love coupons that he can redeem. Hopefully, this is something that can help us to comm...
