Welcoming April, my special month

April is a special month for me. This is the month I was born. This is the month when cherry blossom springs This is the month when God entrusted a new home which still under construction until 2023. This is the month I went back to workforce. I am grateful for God's endless blessings. It's only by God's grace and providence, not because of who I am.

How we measure success

I got this picture from my friend which I think it's true especially in this age. Traditional way, success is measured by our salary and title in the job. As I mature, I realise what makes me truly happy is not a career or having lots of money. What makes me happy is doing what I like and make a positive impact to the people surrounding me. No matter what title I have.  Even in my current job as office manager, I'm proud of it. I want to be the best office manager to support the team for the success of company.

Cactus Vs Chia Plant

I was given this plant last year by our dear friend, it doesn't need anything except water every 3 days. However I'm not a plant person so I keep forgetting. That's why it almost dying and only left with a few leaves. I almost want to throw it away but I can't. I still feel that there's a hope until it's no more leaf there. So during my morning prayer, I look at the pot. If the soil is dry then I water it. One day, I have my water bottle with chia seeds inside. So I just water it with that water and some of the chia seeds also fell down into that soil. I didn't think anything, only hoping it can be a nutrition for the cactus plant. A few days later, when I am going to water the soil, I notice something different, I thought that's my fake plant who fell there because I had another dry plant next to it and keep falling when the wind is strong. As I'm about to pluck it, I noticed the root is in the soil then I realized the chia seeds have been sprouting...

Put Trust in God

On Wednesday afternoon, my team mate in Jakarta messaged me to ask the status of the documents that's supposed to be received early this week. When I checked with DHL, it seemed that DHL picked up the document but they didn't update the status and apparently didn't send to the correct destination. The customer service had no idea where the document was, he only told me that he would check in their back end and update me again the next day. Worried ? yes, calm ? yes I had a tendency to solve the problem as quick as possible but this one was beyond my control. At night before sleeping, I prayed to God and St Anthony to help us to locate the document and I surrendered to God because I knew He took control of everything even it's beyond my capacity. Thanks God, I could sleep well and in the morning, I prayed again and offered it with my fasting. After I was done with my exercise, I received 2 missed calls from DHL and when I called them back, they told me that the document ...

That's what friends are for

I and hubby had a best friend, he's the one who found the family builder community where we were the shepherd now. He's fighting with his life and racing against the time. Doctor had told him that his days were numbered. We still believe that there's always second chance in life if God's will. Thus we as friend want to motivate and encourage him to keep fighting till the end and not to give up. Not giving up on himself, not giving up on his faith and not giving up on hope. Thus, I created this short video clip to remember our moments together. Keep smiling, keep shining Know that you can always count on us for sure that's what friends are for In good times and bad times, we'll be on your side forever more

Fun and Therapeutic Activity

I have been looking for vegetable farming workshop quite sometimes, but either the time was not suitable nor the place was so out. Few weeks ago, one of my friends informed me about vegetable farming workshop at Thomson's Nursery areas. I was excited and quickly registered and to my disappointment, the course was fully booked. Thanks God, she knew the owner of the shop and can slot me in. I really looked forward for this workshop. Last Sunday, I gained new knowledge 1. Vegetables are short living only 7 days (flavour, taste, smell, nutrients) Singapore is very small country with little own produce and most of the vegetables come from nearby countries. By the time, the leaves were plucked from main plant, it's considered died and took about 4 - 5 days to reach supermarket shelves. Thus we only have 2 effective days to get most of it. 2. New concept between FRESH VS TREE RIPPED We thought that as long as we eat fresh food, we are okay. Sadly, it's not really ok...

One Step @ A Time

Few weeks ago, after dropping the kids off to school, my husband and I were on the car to send him off to his workplace and suddenly he asked me how's my business ? Well, he never interfered in my business so he didn't know the latest development. I replied that since our products line and variety hasn't increased, the sales were slowing down drastically. Anyway, the stocks were not many as well, so I was not aggressive in marketing them again. He then asked me if there is any possibility to revive it again ? Perhaps we could be the agent for South East Asia for these AR products since our principal was more interested in bigger collaboration with big firms. I told him that I was a bit pessimistic because the products have been in the market for 3 years and there's no new product development from our principal therefore I doubted that it will be a wise plan to be the South East Asia Agent. On a side note, seeing him starting to support and encourage me agai...

Trust in God's providence

Currently we are in dilemma as hubby wants to take Finance course next month. The fee for this class is a hefty sum for us since we have very limited resources. At first, I am a bit reluctant because of my own case when hubby encouraged me to take this course last year, I thought I wanted to give it a try and perhaps it could be another source of income, but after almost a year I ended up abandoning it for many reasons or excuses to be exact, either I don't have enough time to study further or it's not my interest in the first place etc and I had this little regret for money that wasted and I called it failed investments. Thus, when he wants to take this course this year, I have this uncertainty and anxiety if this would be a good or another failed investment. Another reason why I am reluctant to let go this sum of money for the course is we have already planned to go to Holy land next year and it would take a hefty sum too ; almost third of our saving accounts. If he...

The Battle Between Good and Evil Within Myself

This is the story how I fight the battle within myself. Last Friday, I have received the message from I-robot service center that my vacuum cleaner was ready for collection. I was happy because at least I can leave the house this coming weekend without worry for the dusts. Then last night, I received another message that I needed to pay for another S$ 200 for faulty spare parts. I was shocked and angry because I just sent to the service last month for the faulty battery, and when I collected back, it gave me another problem which was the sound that it never happened before and they wanted to charge it to me. At first, I was so emotional and wanted to vent my anger in the social media but suddenly there's a voice that told me to pray instead. So I went to sleep and would pray this morning. I was still upset and already made the plan for battle to fight and defend myself when I went to their place later. But the voice kept telling me to pray first before battle. So after...

Short "me time "

Last Saturday, I flew back to Jakarta for gown fitting as well as attending my brother in law engagement day / sanjitan. I arrived at noon, had quick lunch at coffeeshop near my in law house and went straight to gown fitting. After that we went to nearby cafe to have coffee break while I did window shopping for batik and found one kebaya top and bought it. In the evening, we had dinner with my father in law's friends and celebrated my father in law birthday too. The next day, I attended my brother in law's engagement and went to airport to catch my afternoon flight. Arriving at changi airport, I celebrated my first son's birthday at Swensens. What a fruitful 48 hours.

God's instrument of Love

This is the sharing from my husband which somewhat blessed me this morning. Two weeks ago, he went to Korea to oversee the inspection of his projects. We have prayed together before his departure that everything would be going well and fruitful and it would be his last business trip for this year. This was the first time he met the German inspector and since this inspector was very senior, he's very strict and maintained his professionalism. The first day of inspection, he almost marked the goods as "FAIL" because the appearances were not according to his expectation. My husband argued that he and his team has warned the client's team that it's impossible to do something on the goods and since the client insisted, that's the best thing they have done. The inspector decided to check with his team and would let my husband know the next day. He prayed very hard so it could "PASS". The next day, the inspector told him that his team had no pr...

A Survival Week

It's been almost a week that I was left behind with the kids when he was away for business trips. It's the longest business trip that he ever had and not only that, it's coincidence with mid term school holiday. I thought I was strong, when he told me before hand that he needed to stay over weekend there but a day after he left, I was almost lost. I browsed for the air tickets and found it's damn expensive travelling with three kids, so I aborted the impulsive plan. I scratched my head what I needed to do with these kids during school holiday because I can't let them just watch TV all day long or fighting with each other and made me premature aging faster so finally I found free event from HPB, Active family SG. Since it's accommodating for 6 - 12 years old only my eldest one could join, but at least we were out for something useful as family. He joined nerf gun combat and bowling twice for each activity and I did join him for bowling too and it was fun...

God Sees Our Heart...

There's unresolved matters that I still kept in my heart, this is something that my fear is much more bigger than my faith which is open to new life. From three children I have, only one that I and my husband are really planning it, the rests are God's plan. When we decided to get married, I didn't expect that within 6 months of our marriage, God has planted a seed of life in my womb. We were married quite young, I and my husband were still in planning to carve out our career, did something to fulfil our dream, still wanted to live just two of us while saving some money for our future children. I was shocked, scared and excited at the same time, it's our first child and my first hands on experience of a lifetime because none of our relatives, cousins or close friends who were the same age with us back then were having the children. Being the first one is not easy, it's a leap of faith. Our first child was neither an easy kid, we were so struggli...

Tumpeng rice ( yellow rice )

I know this topic is a bit out of place, but I, myself was also curious why in most celebration, Indonesians love to serve Nasi Tumpeng as the main course. So here's the history behind that I copy paste from Wikipedia Tumpeng  is a cone-shaped rice dish with side dishes of vegetables and meat. Traditionally featured in the  slamatan  ceremony, the rice is made by using a cone-shaped woven bamboo container. The rice itself may be plain  steamed rice ,  uduk rice  (cooked with  coconut milk ), or  yellow rice  (uduk rice colored with kunyit ( turmeric )). The rice cone is erected in the tampah (rounded woven bamboo container), covered with a banana leaf, and surrounded by assorted Indonesian dishes.  The cone-shaped rice meant to mimics the holy mountain. The feast served as a thanksgiving for the abundance of harvest or any other blessings. Tumpeng is a symbol of gratitude. In modern days, tumpeng has d...

Blessed to bless

I wrote this story on behalf my hubby. I was also grateful for him to be able to bless and bring one soul to see the truth and light through him. This happened in his office, there's a gentleman who's different division with him but this person has no friends. His direct manager and colleagues always make difficult for him. When he just started work on the first day, no one welcome him and he had nobody to bring him for lunch. Until he met my hubby. They always go for lunch together and my hubby was his listening ears and he loved to hear the wisdom from my hubby too eventhough he's much older than my hubby. Long short story, God leverage His blessing through my hubby which he got sales order quite a big sum through my hubby, but in the end his direct manager was still not happy and not convinced. He was so upset and shared it with my hubby. Once, they happened to have the same business trip schedule overseas so he watched and observed how my hubby presented to ...

6 months in " The Desert "

It's been 6 months in the Desert for my hubby and finally it comes to an end with nice closure. End of last year, hubby had an opportunity to move to new company and after we prayed and discerned together we decided to take this new opportunity. At first, hubby was reluctant because in his current job, he was doing okay  but by moving to new job, he was not sure if he could make it. With prayer and courage, we decided to embark on that journey. I had affirmation from God that this journey was not easy in the beginning, it's like Israel who crossed the red sea to go to promised land. There will be desert in between the journey. One month later after he joined the new company, he got new sales order unfortunately it's not smooth sailing. There's a problem for this first sales order that he needed to sacrifice our holiday time. Well, he was present with us but his mind was in this job and the problem. After the problem solved, two weeks later he heard the news that...

Two Wishes

With the recent tragedy in Surabaya where there were 5 bombs exploded in different places, it reminds me that life is so fragile. In a second, we could leave this world or left behind by our loved ones. Every time hubby is travelling alone for business trip, I always pray to God for his safety. I am having flight phobia since my uncle died in flight accident years ago. I imagine if God asks me, what are the wishes that you want God to fulfil ? I have two wishes : 1. Please don't let either me or hubby leave this world too early and leaving the family behind I can't live without him, nurturing the kids and taking care this family alone, and so my hubby. Both of us are completing each other to complete our tasks in this world. Therefore I ask God, please give us a chance to complete our mission together until our children are grown up and have continued the legacy of love and truth 2. Please don't give me anymore children It sounds silly, but seriously I'm t...

Is Woman always right ?

There's a joke / meme below It leads me to the thinking whether women are always right. Few weeks ago, I and my hubby had an argument. He just started a new job few months ago and like others, he's been adapting and adjusting and just as he was settling down, the senior manager who hired him resigned and it gave a big blow to him because his team was pretty small, only 3 of them and with his manager leaving soon meaning that there's a higher chance that his division will be closed. Well, we have been praying before he accepted this job and we had peace when he took this job but suddenly there's unexpected storm and he started to doubt whether we had made right choice. At first, when I received the news, I was puzzled too, because I have been encouraging him to move on to this new job. But when I offered this through prayer, I had a peace and affirmation that we made the right decision. Instead of looking the negative side, I was able to see the positive side....
