Led into the Desert

This period feels like my own personal "desert"—not in a literal sense, but as a time of purification where I allow God to heal my wounded heart, clarify my mission, build my character, and strengthen my faith. I recognize three main temptations I need to conquer: The Lust of the Flesh : Jesus faced his first temptation to turn stones into bread, tested on whether he would trust God’s providence or try to create his own path. Similarly, I find myself jobless despite my deep desire to work. I've applied for numerous positions, but it feels like God has closed all the doors. Trusting in His providence during this time is challenging. I often feel useless and worthless, yet I remind myself that God’s grace is sufficient to help me through each day. The Lust of the Eyes : It’s easy to feel envious when I see former colleagues securing jobs effortlessly. While I genuinely want to be happy for them, I sometimes struggle with feelings of disgust regarding how my previous company...

Reset => Stay at Home Mom ?

Returning to my original role as a stay-at-home mom and wife, after four years as a working mom, feels like a new direction from God. Initially, I struggled with accepting this shift because I wanted to prove my capability, pursue career success, and achieve recognition. However, I now realize that pursuing these goals might have done me more harm than good. God, in His wisdom, chose to guide me away from a path that wasn’t right for me, stopping me before I went any further. It seems that God wants to purify and reset me for a greater purpose. This has led to a closing of many doors of opportunity, which initially left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. As I take the time to slow down and reflect, I see that being a stay-at-home mom isn’t as bad as I once thought. Many moms long for the chance to be home with their children but can’t due to financial constraints. I am fortunate to have this privilege, even though I initially resisted it. So, if God is leading me back to being a s...

In the Desert

Over the past few weeks, I have been feeling down, frustrated, and confused. After resigning from my previous job, I was hopeful about finding a new position that would allow me to continue being a working mom while pursuing self-fulfillment. Despite submitting numerous job applications, I’ve faced continuous setbacks, which led me to question my worth and wonder if something is wrong with me. I found myself questioning what God wants me to do, as it seemed that every door was closing, leaving me with the option of becoming a stay-at-home mom. I feel that I have more to offer than just staying at home, and this has been a source of frustration for me. During a recent cardio session, I came across a video from Life Church on YouTube. The message was about calming a restless mind, and one particular verse struck me deeply. The speaker shared that when Jesus was baptized, He had not yet performed any ministry work or miracles. He was simply an ordinary carpenter who was baptized, and yet ...

Speak Lord, your servant is listening

During this time of isolation, I have sensed that God communicates in His own way. After He consoled and comforted me through my anxiety and helped me learn to trust Him, I received a valuable reminder today on how to hear His voice. This morning, as I woke up and prayed, I felt overwhelmed by uncertainty regarding my next steps now that the house project is complete. Should I take some courses? Look for a new job? Start my own business? The multitude of choices seemed daunting. After finishing my weight training, I did 30 minutes of low-impact cardio on the treadmill while listening to a sermon on YouTube. The sermon was titled " How to Hear God's Voice ," which was particularly relevant to my struggles with hearing God's guidance amid distractions and noise. Here are the key takeaways from the sermon: Cultivate a Relationship with God : Knowing God personally helps us recognize when He speaks to us. Ask and Be Prepared : God will answer our prayers, but His answers ...

Antidote of Anxiety => Trust

This Friday is my 2nd year performance review and this past few days I felt very anxious. I proposed myself to take up a new challenge in Business Development Department when the company asked me to do self - assessment. There are many reasons behind I am already used with the current roles and hungry to learn more My previous experience was all about sales and marketing and eventhough I haven't made it big yet, this is the thing that I want to make a breakthrough in my career. To be honest, this product is really new for me and I don't even know what, how, where to start. I don't even know what I am signing up for hahaha. I want to help my CEO and COO. They have treated me with respect, provided me a room to grow and have work life balance. Both are the servant leaders and good mentors, thus I want to contribute what I could to help them and the company. I want to have own portfolio as well for my personal career growth, I don't know until when I will be attached to th...

Happy 2nd Anniversary !

2 years ago, I joined this company. It's started when the covid struck us until now when we are slowly enjoying new normal and live with endemic. It's been a fruitful journey, I am so grateful for the bosses who are very understanding and trusting me and even my position may be the lowest among all, they never look down. They never take granted for everything that the team does. Even, I admire them for their spirit of humility. When they make mistake, they take the responsibility and not shifting the blame to other people. They are full of justice and mercy also, I could see the Christian life from the way they lead the team. I only can say Thank you Jesus for this amazing blessing that I am able to be who I am, serving this company with all my heart, growing to be the better person everyday. And to celebrate it, we went to Bali. It's first time after 2 years that we are see the world again. Eventhough, it's a hectic week as we just decided it last week but it's fru...

Awesome April

April is one of my favorite months because it's my birthday month and this year is very special because I am turning 40 this year, people say Life begins at 40. For me, 40 is a new 20. The theme for this year birthday is GIVING. It's about self-giving, my time, knowledge, talents to others. Fr Henry ever mentioned during homily that we live to give ourselves to others. Sun gives the light to others, it doesn't consume its own light Tree produces fruits for others, it doesn't consume its own fruit Flower spreads its fragrant for others, it doesn't smell its own fragrant That's the life of nature. From the beginning of this year, I have done something that I never do before on top of what I usually do it gives me so much joy and excitement. Serving God through community with my music talents Sharing my health and wellness knowledge to others  Spending 2 hours of my busy time delivering meals for senior citizen Doing fashion photoshoot with my hubby Going for blood...

Meals on Wheels Delivery Volunteer

One of my wish list for my big 40 is to give back to society by doing some volunteering job and God answered my prayer.  One fine day, there's a flyer in one of my WA group chat. It's Meals on Wheels Delivery which they need people to help deliver meals to elderly in West area. Without thinking further, I said yes and contacted the person in charge and indeed they really need people to help them. So here I am on my first task to deliver the meals around Bukit Batok area with our oldest son.

Life is Fragile

This is my reflection over the past two weeks after attending funeral back to back within 2 weeks. I have some talks with hubby over the car ride, 10 years ago we were busy planning and attending wedding either ourselves, friends, family. Then 5 years ago we were busy planning and attending baby's babtism, 1st birthday. Today, we are attending the other sides of life which is death and funeral. It may not be a happy occasion for most of us, saying goodbye is always the hardest words. Everyday I imagine myself either me or my hubby who will leave first and whether I am ready for that. The answer is I don't know. What I know is I want to enjoy the presence, live to the fullest each day like today is my last day. By the end of the day, I always asking myself, are there any persons whom I have hurt or hold the grudge with? Are there anything in the world that I am attached  a little bit too much ? What is my life purpose and vocation ? Have I lived my life according to God's wi...

9 Days of Pruning

After I am done with batch 3 of FitBites order, I want to pause, reflect and ask God whether this is what He wants me to do or just my own desire.  Currently, I have two options, diving deep on Finance and investment which something I never get interested in before or diving deep into home baked business which is pretty new for me. I'm used to cook healthy food for myself and family but extending this to other people is another challenge. Thus, I decide to fast, pray and meditate these 9 days to gain wisdom, knowledge and counsel from God. I always believe that we have capability to do anything but if God doesn't approve and we rely on our own strength, there's always price to pay in the end. I rather ask God's blessing than following my own desire. My fasting and pray started on Monday, 14 June 2021. Hopefully by the end of this 9 days, I can see what God's will for me.

God's Affirmation (5 June 2021)

Last Thursday, I attended fintech course sponsored by my company where I work. It's really opening up my horizon about how technology can disrupt and change everything and how fast it happens and what will be the future like. I am so amazed with that and after I did my revision and search more for this future technology in finance, I stumbled with a few options. One of them is doing investing. I have no background in the investment and it intrigues me to find out more about what and how to do the investment. Everything happens for a reason. Yesterday, when I sent the package to my friend, we have some casual talked and guess what, she's just telling me about investment and the platform she used without me asking her anything. I was like....oh whatt....when your mind is thinking about it, it attracts people surround you to conform with your thought. For me, it's like an affirmation that perhaps this is something which again out of my comfort zone but will keep my life more i...

The Challenges

There are some reservations for me to jump into this entrepreneurship journey again, both internal and external factors These are questions that come into my mind I am in the good life now, why should I trouble myself to take this entrepreneurship path again ? F&B is time consuming and the taste need to be the same all the time, should I rather spend time for other things ? I am very new into this venture, what if I can't deliver as what people expect ? What if my products won't be accepted by the market and I will feel down and hurt my self esteem? What if my products are successful and the greed take over me ? What if this business distract me from God by relying more on my own understanding and strength instead of Him ? My hubby is not an entrepreneur person and in the my previous adventure, I was doing everything alone and he looked down on me to make small money with so much efforts, thus I had this phobia that he won't support me instead pulling me down saying tha...

The Leap of Faith ( 30th May 2021)

Sunday, 30th May 2021 is the feast of Holy Trinity.  Two days before, I had this prompting to venture to new adventure which is opening the homemade dessert which is healthier version of what the market offer. I have been in dilemma as I am in the comfortable life right now. I have a great job with good salary, can spend time with my hubby and kids, enjoy my passion to coach and train other people, the least I ever thought is starting entrepreneur journey again. Entrepreneur journey is not an easy path, very challenging and tiring sometimes but it's fulfilling mission as well. On Sunday afternoon, I had a call from my trainee. Suddenly she told me "Indah, can you open PO for acai bowl?" I was shocked and didn't know what to say. In addition, she told me that to open the order on Tuesday as I met her and she was willingly to help distributing the food. I tried to give her some excuses as I haven't bought the ingredients and even haven't counted the cost and pri...
