A Taste of Heaven

Yesterday, I reached a point where I felt completely overwhelmed.

I told God honestly, “I’m tired.”
Tired of trying to be a good and obedient girl while my work problems remain unsolved.

My business has no customers right now, which means no revenue. Yet the expenses keep coming — warehouse costs, the car, and other commitments. The waiting and uncertainty are exhausting.

I’ve been praying day and night.
Attending weekday Mass.
Completing the 54-day novena.
Praying to St. Joseph.

And still… nothing seems to change.

In my frustration, I even told God that it felt pointless to keep being obedient and faithful if everything stayed the same.

But this morning, something gentle happened.

While doing cardio at the gym, I was watching YouTube, and a video from Rick Warren about the six tests from God appeared. I clicked on it. Somehow it felt like God knew exactly what was going on in my heart.

The video led me to Hebrews 11, the chapter about faith.

And slowly, my doubts started to settle.

I felt God reminding me that living obediently and trying to be faithful has not gone unnoticed.

In fact, He has already allowed me to taste a little piece of heaven here on earth.

The unity and harmony in my family — a loving husband, kind and obedient children, peaceful relationships with parents, in-laws, and siblings — these are not small things. They are God’s grace.

When that kind of harmony is broken, no amount of money in the world can replace it.

And that realization humbled me.

The struggles in my work are not necessarily punishment. They may simply be the tools God is using to grow my faith and shape my character.

As long as I keep a clear conscience and continue trying to follow Him, these challenges are small compared to the blessings He has already given.

God may not always give a clear answer or direction.

But He promises something better — His presence in every step we take.

Even when we make the wrong decision because of our limited understanding, God is still able to straighten the path.

He is not looking for perfect answers.

He looks at how we make decisions, how we remain humble, and how we respond to the situations we face.

In my business journey, I also need to remember to stay humble — to listen to my husband, because sometimes God gives wisdom through him too. We may not always make the perfect choice, but God sees our intentions and our willingness to keep trying.

God already knows our financial situation.
He knows the future that we cannot see.

I don’t need to know everything.

I only need to trust that He is with us, and that His providence will always be enough.

And maybe , just maybe this quiet season without customers is not wasted time.

Maybe God is allowing us to rest now,
before the season comes when we will need to work hard again.

As for me and my house will serve you Lord

Finally, I’ve joined the boys in serving at the Eucharist. It’s not my time, but His time. Two of the communion ministers were unable to serve on Sunday morning and requested to move to the Saturday sunset Mass. This left the group leader looking for replacements — and he thought of me, knowing that my hubby has been serving at Mass for 10 years. I said “yes” to the invitation, and so began my journey: the commissioning Mass on 3rd August, a Day of Recollection on 9th August, and my very first duty on 10th August. It is such a privilege to offer Jesus, in the Body of Christ, to His sheep. As I looked into the eyes of each parishioner receiving the Body of Christ, I saw so many different expressions. My prayer is that this gift of the Body of Christ will strengthen them in their journey, whatever season of life they are in.

What to do when you don't know what to do

I’ve been absent from writing the blog for quite a while, as I felt there wasn’t any story worth sharing. But today, I want to share something that happened in August. For some time, I had been waiting and praying, asking God to show me whether I should persevere with this winter rental business. I often felt that all my efforts were in vain, and I had reached the end of my wits, unsure of what else to do. In my prayer, I asked God specifically for a sign: if there was even just one try-on appointment in August, it would mean that He still blesses this business and that it remains aligned with His plan. That very afternoon, I suddenly received a WhatsApp message from a man who wanted to arrange a try-on session for the next day. I replied quickly, asking for details — and to my surprise, he said 10 adults were traveling together! I immediately told my husband, though I also explained that we didn’t have enough stock for such a large group. My husband encouraged me to call and explain t...
