Ignatius de Loyola Movie

On Friday, we had movie screening in our church about Ignatius de Loyola.
Although both of us studied in high school managed by Jesuit. I studied at Loyola college while hubby studied at Canisius College, I never read or interested in finding out about Our Patron Saints until weeks before during Sunday Mass, it was announced that there will be Ignatius de Loyola Movie screening.

The synopsis :

If you could hear the voice of God, would you want to keep it secret ? This is the story of a soldier, a man of vice and violence who in his attempt to turn to the light was forced to wrestle with his inner demons to the very brink of death. He struggled with depression and near-suicide, his trial before the inquisition and ultimate vindication and how he found about Spiritual Exercise that's still practiced by Jesuit order and layman until today.

What I learn from this movie :

1. Pray for indifference
Sometimes we love to pray for all good things to come to our life, asking blessings ( good financial, good health, happiness in life etc) it's not wrong but it will be wiser if we could ask the heart of indifference to help us to give thanks to God in all situation even though we are in the tribulation, poor health, or misfortunes.
Sometimes God used those undesirable situation to bring us closer to God

2. Consolation - Desolation
What brings us more to God to love and unity is called consolation, what brings us away from God that creates confusion, delusion is called desolation

3. Spiritual Exercise
It's an exercise to discern about voice of God and voice of Evil.
More about spiritual exercise is found in this reading

In conclusion, we are all called to be the Army of God. We need to have the ability to discern what is good and what is evil because a lot of things in this world are in grey areas instead of obvious black and white. Last but not least, do everything for the glory of God (Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam)

Jubilee Year - Year of Hope (2025)

Year of Hope: A Personal Reflection on 2025 The year 2025 has been declared a Jubilee Year, a  Year of Hope  by the Pope—a time for peace, joy, and prosperity. For many, entering a new year brings feelings of happiness and optimism. However, I find myself on a different path, starting the year with anxiety and uncertainty rather than joy and hope. For me, 2025 is a year of the unknown. It marks the first time in four years that I will not hold the title of a working mom. Transitioning from this identity feels daunting and unfamiliar. It is also the year I plan to embark on a new venture: starting a winter rental business. This endeavor excites me but is fraught with challenges. There are countless pieces of the puzzle yet to be solved, and I pray for wisdom and the support of "ordinary angels" to guide me through. This is also a pivotal year for our family. Two of our children will face major exams. While I know the journey matters more than the results, I hope they develop s...

A Burger Date

It feels like it's been ages to have a date night with hubby, thus before my parents going back to Indo we decided to have a couple date over burger as I have been craving with Hans I'm Gluck burger. We went there, enjoying the burger and companion of each other and talking about anything, something that we are used to have but no longer anymore after I took a new role in the company. Then, I accompanied him to shop at H&M before heading back home. It's one of the best burgers I ever had since I am in fasting the whole day for a week. The perk of fasting is I could appreciate the food and enjoy it.
