This trip almost didn’t happen! When my husband suggested I join him on his business trip to Bangkok, I hesitated—our kids have exams next week! But after some thought, I figured… why not? Who knows when his next Bangkok trip will be? So, two weeks ago, I told him,  “I’m in!” —but just for a quick  3-day, 2-night adventure. I flew in with Scoot in the evening (with one-hour delay 🙃) and landed in Bangkok around 7 PM. Hubby picked me up, and we made a quick stop at  Siam Factory Outlet  near the airport to check out winter jackets. Sadly, the selection was small, and the prices weren’t much better than Singapore’s—so no luck there! As we grow older in our relationship, we've learned to spend money more wisely. Instead of splurging on a high-end fine dining experience, we decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a day trip to Johor Bahru. Our day started with a morning hike at Bukit Timah, followed by a delicious Korean BBQ lunch and dessert in Johor Bahru. We also did a bit of grocery shopping before heading back to Singapore. With the rising cost of living in Singapore, we prefer to spend our money on travel experiences. Next up—Vietnam for my birthday trip! Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️

Last Thursday, my husband and I had an argument over something trivial. The kids were running late, but I insisted they brush their teeth, even if it meant being three minutes late. I wanted them to learn the lesson that responsibilities shouldn’t be skipped, no matter the circumstances. My husband was upset with how I handled the situation. He expressed that he felt angry and disrespected. In response, I raised my voice too, overwhelmed by the pressures of managing the kids and navigating my new business venture. Although we agreed to talk it out that day, our conversation didn’t resolve much. We withdrew into our own emotional spaces, becoming distant while still fulfilling our roles as parents. By Saturday, we decided to have a deeper conversation. I shared the darker side of my feelings—how my faith felt like it was hanging by a thread after what happened at my workplace last year. 2nd Feb was a special day as I officially registered my business on the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord with the business name : WinterBuddy Singapore LP (pending approval) I want to offer this business to God, trusting that He will multiply it into a blessing—not only for our family but for other families and the planet as well. God planted this calling in me two years ago. Though I had no prior knowledge or experience, He inspired me, and I finally said yes. I trust in His grace and providence, believing that as long as I walk with Him, He will provide everything I need. One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned from my previous business ventures is to never rush ahead. God moves at His own pace—He may seem slow to us, but He holds all time in His hands. Even when we think He’s late, He is always in control. So now, I move forward with faith, following my instincts on what steps to take next. We had the opportunity to visit the newly built Church of Our Lady of Akita at PIK, designed to resemble the original church in Akita, Japan. This church is well known for the supernatural phenomenon where a statue of Mother Mary shed tears 101 times—scientifically confirmed to be human tears. The atmosphere was solemn and serene. We took a moment for a short prayer, giving thanks for the past year and asking for blessings of good health, joy, peace, hope, love, and prosperity in the new year.

We had our Chinese New Year reunion dinner at Sentral Restaurant and were glad we chose the first session from 5:00–7:00 PM. Shortly after, heavy rain poured down, causing traffic jams and flooding everywhere. Thankfully, we made it back to our hotel by 8:30 PM and had a good night’s rest. The next day, we visited our grandparents' house to reunite with family and relatives. We also caught up with friends, as well as my brother and his kids—since we only get to meet once a year. Grateful that everyone is healthy and well.
