Trip to Bangkok in less than 48 hours

This trip almost didn’t happen! When my husband suggested I join him on his business trip to Bangkok, I hesitated—our kids have exams next week! But after some thought, I figured… why not? Who knows when his next Bangkok trip will be? So, two weeks ago, I told him, “I’m in!”—but just for a quick 3-day, 2-night adventure.

I flew in with Scoot in the evening (with one-hour delay 🙃) and landed in Bangkok around 7 PM. Hubby picked me up, and we made a quick stop at Siam Factory Outlet near the airport to check out winter jackets. Sadly, the selection was small, and the prices weren’t much better than Singapore’s—so no luck there!

Exploring Bangkok Solo! 🚶‍♀️

While hubby was busy with meetings the next morning, I went on a little solo adventure. First stop: The Grand Palace! It was grand, but honestly, also quite packed. I joined a free tour (highly recommend!) and learned some fascinating history. Next, I walked over to Wat Pho, home to the famous reclining Buddha. Standing in front of that massive, peaceful figure, I felt like it was telling me: "Slow down. Rest. Enjoy life." (Noted, Buddha! 😌✨)

Lunchtime! I found a nearby Thai café and ordered Pad Thai and fresh coconut—it was decent but nothing mind-blowing. Then, off to Platinum Fashion Mall, a paradise for shopaholics! I was on a mission and found a wholesale winter jacket supplier—score! Great quality at a much better price than Singapore. Mission accomplished!

Night Market Fun & The Best Meal Ever! 🌙🍽️

By evening, we headed to Pratunam Night Market, just across from Platinum Mall. This was hands-down the best meal of the trip! Papaya salad + seafood Pad Thai = heaven. And all for less than SGD 5! 😍 After stuffing ourselves, we hopped onto a tuk-tuk and zoomed back to our hotel—always a fun ride!

To wrap up the night, we did a bit of window shopping at MBK and Siam Center, but nothing really caught our eye. So, we decided to kick back and relax at the hotel—because sometimes, that’s the best way to enjoy a trip!

Short but sweet, this Bangkok getaway was totally worth it! Would I do it again? Absolutely. 😆✈️

Jubilee Year - Year of Hope (2025)

Year of Hope: A Personal Reflection on 2025 The year 2025 has been declared a Jubilee Year, a  Year of Hope  by the Pope—a time for peace, joy, and prosperity. For many, entering a new year brings feelings of happiness and optimism. However, I find myself on a different path, starting the year with anxiety and uncertainty rather than joy and hope. For me, 2025 is a year of the unknown. It marks the first time in four years that I will not hold the title of a working mom. Transitioning from this identity feels daunting and unfamiliar. It is also the year I plan to embark on a new venture: starting a winter rental business. This endeavor excites me but is fraught with challenges. There are countless pieces of the puzzle yet to be solved, and I pray for wisdom and the support of "ordinary angels" to guide me through. This is also a pivotal year for our family. Two of our children will face major exams. While I know the journey matters more than the results, I hope they develop s...

A Burger Date

It feels like it's been ages to have a date night with hubby, thus before my parents going back to Indo we decided to have a couple date over burger as I have been craving with Hans I'm Gluck burger. We went there, enjoying the burger and companion of each other and talking about anything, something that we are used to have but no longer anymore after I took a new role in the company. Then, I accompanied him to shop at H&M before heading back home. It's one of the best burgers I ever had since I am in fasting the whole day for a week. The perk of fasting is I could appreciate the food and enjoy it.
