Learn from Joseph - The First CEO in the Bible

As my mind was wandering between faith and doubt, I stumbled upon this post in Instagram and I feel  that God's speaking to me and giving me the comfort and encouragement.

Learn from Joseph - The First CEO in the Bible

1. Gen 37 : 5

"Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers, and they hated him evermore."

Reflection :

  • God often gives us dream even before we're ready to carry it. Every great destiny begins with a dream...
  • Joseph didn't yet have the wisdom to handle the dream with humility. He shared it with pride and it provoked envy and strife.
  • Often it's not the dream that disappoints, it's the maturity of the one carrying it. A gift without character can stir pride, but when refined, it becomes the very thing God uses to elevate us.
  • Joseph's dream once stirred conflict but years later, the same gift of dream interpretation that positioned him before kings.

2. Gen 37 : 23 - 26

"They stripped him of his robe...and threw him into the pit..and sold him to the Ishmaelites..."

Reflection :

  • Rejection was part of the process. The pit isn't the end. It's where God begins the deep work of identity and dependence.
  • Joseph's robe represented his identity, favour and position. Before God could elevate him, He had to strip off what Joseph wore from man.
  • Sometimes God removes the identity others gave you to reveal the one He designed for you.

3. Gen 39 : 1 - 13

"Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, and Egyptian bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there. The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man, and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian."

Reflection :

  • Joseph's success wasn't about money or situational, it was spiritual. Even Potiphar recognised God's hand on him
  • The secret of success is The Lord was with Joseph
4. Gen 39 : 4

"So Joseph found favour in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had put under his authority.

Reflection :
  • Joseph didn't manipulate his way into promotion, he gained favour by serving faithfully.
  • Joseph didn't need a title, he stewarded whatever was entrusted to him.
  • True leaders carry ownership in every season, whether hidden or seen.
  • Favour from man may open doors, but promotion is always for the purpose of service
5. Gen 39 : 5

"So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field."

Reflection :
  • God can bless others because of us.
  • Potiphar's entire household prospered because Joseph carried divine favour.
  • Business owners and leaders who you hire matters. Someone with God's presence on their life can bring supernatural provision to your company.
6. Gen 39 : 7 - 20

"And it came to pass after these things that his master's wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said "Lie with me... But he refused... he fled and ran..."

Reflection :
  • Joseph faced a private test of character and chose righteousness.
  • Integrity cost him his position but also qualified him.
  • God was forging wisdom and strength in the secret place
  • A man with self-control is a man God can trust with power
7. Gen 40 : 14,23

"But remember me when it's well with you, and please show kindness to me, make mention of me to Pharaoh and get me out of this house. Yet the chief butler did not remember Joseph but forgot him."

Reflection :
  • Joseph helped others then was forgotten for two more years
  • Yet delay isn't denial.
  • God sees what others forget, and His timing is perfect

8. Gen 41: 16

"I cannot do it" Joseph replied to Pharaoh, "but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires."

Reflection :
  • Joseph no longer boasted about his gift
  • He acknowledged the giver. He had the same talent but a different heart
  • God is the one who gives you the gift, the talent and the wisdom
  • Stewardship comes before influence
  • Be faithful with little
9. Gen 50 : 20

"But as for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good..."

Reflection :
  • People may betray you.
  • Bad things may happen
  • But God allows what He intends to redeem.
  • Your pain might be the very path to your purpose, nothing is wasted
Between dream and destiny, there will be surely a test. Not to delay us, not to crush us but to develop the characters we'll need to carry the promise.
When a dream is released too early, without maturity, it can stir pride, confusion or even division.
But in the hands of refined heart, the same dream becomes a solution for many.
God's not just building our platform, He's building us.

Maintaining Marriage Fidelity

This article is from Focus Family and I thought it's good as self reminder for both of us so we don't take for granted of each other and commit to maintain marriage fidelity for the rest of our lives. Nobody wakes up one day and suddenly decides to begin an extramarital affair. Infidelity begins in the heart and mind. By the time a person physically commits adultery, he or she has been indulging for quite some time in progressively more intense mental and   emotional affairs . Likewise, marital fidelity begins long before marriage. It begins as a promise we make to ourselves to be a person of faithful character before marriage ever enters the picture. It is a promise we make to our future spouse when we get engaged, and it is a vow we make to our spouse when we get married. Marital fidelity is a daily commitment to seek the best for your spouse and family. Strengthening Marital Fidelity Marital fidelity is strengthened when you affirm your spouse, listen to your spouse, and se...
