As some of the girls wanted to get Rejuran treatments, it was just me and one other girl who didn’t have appointments. So, we decided to spend the time window shopping at Goto Underground Mall while waiting for the rest to finish their doctor visits. We had a light breakfast and lunch at a local food stall in the mall. Once the others were done, we all headed to Hannam-dong, a trendy area near Itaewon known for its boutique shops and stylish cafes. The area was quiet in the evening, and the girls did some fashion shopping while we explored. We ended the day with a special dinner hosted by one of the plastic surgeons at a local restaurant, where we enjoyed fresh crab sashimi and other local delicacies.

Since it was Sunday, we had planned to attend English Mass at Myeongdong Cathedral and had booked two taxis. One taxi arrived on time, so the first group of four made it to Mass just in time. Unfortunately, the second taxi didn’t arrive as planned. We ended up having breakfast at a nearby café and decided to attend the next Mass, which would be in Korean. As it’s quite difficult to get a taxi on Sunday morning, we decided to take the bus, which took about 10 minutes. However, despite making it to the Cathedral, three of the girls decided not to attend the Mass, preferring instead to shop in the area. I felt uneasy about missing the experience, so I chose to attend the Mass alone. It was a quiet, personal moment, and I felt grateful to be there, receiving Holy Communion. Afterward, I met up with the rest of the group for lunch at Myeongdong Koja, a Michelin-starred restaurant famous for its dumplings, followed by some shopping in the area. On the third day, we visited Gwangjang Market and Dongdaemun. Gwangjang Market is a traditional wet market with various sections, including wholesale textiles, fresh produce, kimchi, and street food stalls. For breakfast, we stopped at one of the popular stalls, featured on Netflix, to try noodles and mandu (dumplings). They make the noodles and dumplings fresh from scratch, which made them incredibly chewy and flavorful. I also picked up some local snacks, like truffle seaweed and milk crackers. In the afternoon, we headed to Dongdaemun, known for its wholesale fashion stores offering affordable, hopefully high-quality, clothing. I snagged a pair of winter shoes for just 35,000 Korean won.

On the second day, we visited Gyeongbokgung Palace, where we rented traditional Hanbok outfits nearby. We spent some time taking beautiful photos inside the palace before heading to the nearby Bukchon Hanok Village, where traditional Korean houses have been carefully preserved. In the afternoon, we explored Insadong Culture Street, known for its charming shops offering cute accessories and affordable clothing.
