Back to The Past - Hutong and Great Wall (Summer Holiday June 2019)

On third day, we were back to China ancient days.
We started our journey with Hutong tour. We took rickshaws and exploring around Hutong - Shicahai Area and visiting Drum Tower.
Hutong is the small alleys between the neighbours. In olden days, the house for commoners are gray colors and located outside Forbidden city.
We visited one of the preserved house with courtyards in the middle of the house.
This typical house reminded me of Peranakan house which I believed they were inspired by this ancient house in China.

After that, we headed to The Mutianyu Great Wall of China and the journey took 1.5 hours.
Reaching there, we fuelled our tummy before facing and conquering the giant.
We had local delicacies like La-mien, pancake, kuotie and fried rice.

Then, it's time to face and conquer the giant wall.
We went up by using chair lift and it took around 20 minutes to the peak of mountain.
There, we climbed the steep stairs to go from one watch tower to another watch tower.
We arrived there afternoon and it's so quiet so we took many beautiful pictures and enjoyed the scenery.

After satisfied and proud of our ancestors, we use toboggan to climb down the mountain.
It's so fun and trilling. We love it  !

To end the story, we impromptu booked Kungfu Show which only available in China.
We expected it's a lousy and old kind of entertainment. But it turns out more than what we expected.
We loved it, the story was clear and enlightening, the light and sound effects were so modern.
It's a one kind of experience that we always remembered.

Jubilee Year - Year of Hope (2025)

Year of Hope: A Personal Reflection on 2025 The year 2025 has been declared a Jubilee Year, a  Year of Hope  by the Pope—a time for peace, joy, and prosperity. For many, entering a new year brings feelings of happiness and optimism. However, I find myself on a different path, starting the year with anxiety and uncertainty rather than joy and hope. For me, 2025 is a year of the unknown. It marks the first time in four years that I will not hold the title of a working mom. Transitioning from this identity feels daunting and unfamiliar. It is also the year I plan to embark on a new venture: starting a winter rental business. This endeavor excites me but is fraught with challenges. There are countless pieces of the puzzle yet to be solved, and I pray for wisdom and the support of "ordinary angels" to guide me through. This is also a pivotal year for our family. Two of our children will face major exams. While I know the journey matters more than the results, I hope they develop s...

A Burger Date

It feels like it's been ages to have a date night with hubby, thus before my parents going back to Indo we decided to have a couple date over burger as I have been craving with Hans I'm Gluck burger. We went there, enjoying the burger and companion of each other and talking about anything, something that we are used to have but no longer anymore after I took a new role in the company. Then, I accompanied him to shop at H&M before heading back home. It's one of the best burgers I ever had since I am in fasting the whole day for a week. The perk of fasting is I could appreciate the food and enjoy it.
