A quest to conquer Fuji San.

It's one of hubby's travel wish to climb Mt Fuji at age 40 years old. At first, he wanted to go solo trip, however after second thought, I decided to accompany him for this trip as I haven't been to Kawaguchi and saw Mt Fuji eventhough we have been to Japan twice.

We booked nice hotel at Lake Kawaguchi overlooking the lake and the mountain and another hotel overlooking fuji Q theme park and Mt Fuji.

Unfortunately, the Lady Luck may not be in our side. The weather was undesirable, it's cloudy thus we couldn't see Mt Fuji clearly the past 3 days.

However, hubby has lady luck smiled ago him and he managed to see Mt Fuji from far when the climbing group drove to 5th base and he's able to climb Mt Fuji but not until the top yet as it's covered with heavy snow.

So this is our itinerary

Day 1 - 31 May 2024

Red eye flight with Scoot for 6.5 hours




Day 2 - 1 June 2024

Arrived in the morning at Narita airport, rented the car and drove for 3 hours to Kawaguchiko.




Having lunch at Soba Japanese restaurant near our place to stay.





Checked in around 2pm at La Vista Fuji Kawaguchiko and the hotel was so beautiful overlooking the lake and the Mount Fuji, unfortunately it's a cloudy day thus we only able to see the lake Kawaguchiko.





We planned to see Mt Fuji from other parts so we went to have gelato ice cream and went around Lake kawaguchiko, but it's no avail.



Then, we drove further down to Lake Yamanaka and ate fluffy pancake hoping that Mt Fuji smiled at us, unfortunately it's no avail either.






So we decided to go back to hotel and had a good night sleep hoping tomorrow is another good day

As for me and my house will serve you Lord

Finally, I’ve joined the boys in serving at the Eucharist. It’s not my time, but His time. Two of the communion ministers were unable to serve on Sunday morning and requested to move to the Saturday sunset Mass. This left the group leader looking for replacements — and he thought of me, knowing that my hubby has been serving at Mass for 10 years. I said “yes” to the invitation, and so began my journey: the commissioning Mass on 3rd August, a Day of Recollection on 9th August, and my very first duty on 10th August. It is such a privilege to offer Jesus, in the Body of Christ, to His sheep. As I looked into the eyes of each parishioner receiving the Body of Christ, I saw so many different expressions. My prayer is that this gift of the Body of Christ will strengthen them in their journey, whatever season of life they are in.

What to do when you don't know what to do

I’ve been absent from writing the blog for quite a while, as I felt there wasn’t any story worth sharing. But today, I want to share something that happened in August. For some time, I had been waiting and praying, asking God to show me whether I should persevere with this winter rental business. I often felt that all my efforts were in vain, and I had reached the end of my wits, unsure of what else to do. In my prayer, I asked God specifically for a sign: if there was even just one try-on appointment in August, it would mean that He still blesses this business and that it remains aligned with His plan.
