Journey to the North - Tromso (November 2012)

We have been busy with house planning and moving in the past one year especially when we did everything by ourselves therefore he initiated if we could travel only both of us.
Seeing Northern Light or Aurora Borealis was one of his bucket list therefore without hesitation, we started planning everything 3 months before our departure.

We did some searches and there were suggestions of the places where we could see Aurora Borealis and one of them was Tromso, Northern Norway.

So we took Finnair Flight from Singapore, transited at Helsinki and Oslo then we took Scandinavia Air to fly to Tromso.

When we were about to land, we were speechless because it was all covered by snow and beautiful black and white.

We arrived there in the afternoon and since it was early winter, the sun set pretty early around 3's pm.
We managed to go to the Cathedral and had early dinner.

At night, we joined the local tour group hunting for Aurora.
The weather was not so good at first because it was cloudy, however the tour leader was not giving up.
We moved from one place to another place in the darkest night.
Finally we managed to see a glance of Aurora Borealis dancing in the sky somewhere between Norway and Finland border.
We quickly took a picture before it's gone.
We felt satisfied and grateful to be able to tick one of the bucket lists.

The next day, we explored the city and went to the church for Sunday mass. The church was so empty only 8 of us.
The city was quiet and peaceful and saw many residents greeted and knew each other.
We loved this city much and will be back someday perhaps with our sons.

Jubilee Year - Year of Hope (2025)

Year of Hope: A Personal Reflection on 2025 The year 2025 has been declared a Jubilee Year, a  Year of Hope  by the Pope—a time for peace, joy, and prosperity. For many, entering a new year brings feelings of happiness and optimism. However, I find myself on a different path, starting the year with anxiety and uncertainty rather than joy and hope. For me, 2025 is a year of the unknown. It marks the first time in four years that I will not hold the title of a working mom. Transitioning from this identity feels daunting and unfamiliar. It is also the year I plan to embark on a new venture: starting a winter rental business. This endeavor excites me but is fraught with challenges. There are countless pieces of the puzzle yet to be solved, and I pray for wisdom and the support of "ordinary angels" to guide me through. This is also a pivotal year for our family. Two of our children will face major exams. While I know the journey matters more than the results, I hope they develop s...

A Burger Date

It feels like it's been ages to have a date night with hubby, thus before my parents going back to Indo we decided to have a couple date over burger as I have been craving with Hans I'm Gluck burger. We went there, enjoying the burger and companion of each other and talking about anything, something that we are used to have but no longer anymore after I took a new role in the company. Then, I accompanied him to shop at H&M before heading back home. It's one of the best burgers I ever had since I am in fasting the whole day for a week. The perk of fasting is I could appreciate the food and enjoy it.
